Anodizing

Anodizing is electrolytic process for aluminum, the process creates an aluminum oxide layer that forms as the process time is increased. The oxide layer is a microscopic layer of hexagonal cells that are perpendicular to the aluminums surface. As these cells form they create a hard wearable surface that can be dyed in many vibrant colors, or as is the case of Type III hard anodize, extreme hardness and wear ability.
